Artists’ Support Agency

Midwest Artists’ Support Agency was a place-based project for artists’ development set up in 2003 with ACE funding led by consultants Rachel Bradley, Jason E Bowman and Dr Julie Crawshaw.  It became a far-reaching network and catalyst for creative thought for artist-led culture to make visible a critical mass of artists in the West Midlands region. Midwest’s events made connections with other artists’ scenes nationally and internationally developing the visual arts ecology.  The organisers of Midwest recognised its shelf-life as tied to cultural development at a particular time and place and purposefully ceased its operation in March 2008.
