These text-based permanent public artwork at Bewdley riverside was commissioned by The Environment Agency when improvements were made to the town’s flood defences.  The artist Elizabeth-Jane Grose was selected through invited competition, her work revealing ancient names and stories of the river including the Celtic legend of Sabrina. The artwork, set into the riverside pavements focuses on the industrial and social history of Bewdley and the key use of the river Severn once the busiest river in Europe for trade and transportation of goods.
